The call has been waiting for months, and finally number portability has been able to connect. September 20 is the big day, when you’ll have the freedom to choose the telco operator, while retaining your number…This small step has big ramifications. A lot of people i know have changed their operator, due to the lure of a number which stands out, is easy to remember etc. Assuming you now have a number which you liked, get ready for the next step…which allows you to choose the provider who gives you the best service, the best network, flexibility, and an overall pleasing experience. 2009 is going to be a particularly challenging year for operators due to following considerations:

With all due respect, facebookji, i find it surprising you have made it so tough for anyone to search for facebook pages. i tried for 15 odd minutes, and other than the generic search, tehre was no way for me to search for a specific page or browse through pages. i can do so with groups, though. Odd, that when i googled my dilemma, i got to know that by visiting facebook pages i can actually do that, just the way i am doing with groups…odd. if pages are so popular (zoozoo for example) and so many people get confused about whether to go with groups or pages when launching a brand on facebook, then fb should sure have taken care of this teeny weeny aspect, and made it easier for us to search for pages!

Have you heard the new my airtel my offer campaign by airtel?
the sequel to the love story that started last year…? I heard it a few times yesterday, while IPL was on, and coudln’t help wonder about the stupid error in the script! Watch it to hear Vidya Balan say: “Duniya bhar me sun raha hu, har jagah cutbacks, aur tum ho ki….”
Mademoiselle, do you think you should have said “duniya bhar me sun rahi hu” and not sun raha hu?
Was the spot originally written for madhavan uttering this line and not balan? and the roles got reversed at the very end?
assuming airtel has amongst the best marketing brains and a fairly good agency on its rolls, is this mistake too obvious to not be caught by anyone?
As it is, vodafone with its zoozoo is taking away all the glory from other telecom operators this season, with a brilliantly designed campaign, and then airtel comes up with repeated telecasts of the same ad, and when you have caught a mistake once, you just keep on waiting to catch it again and again right…that’s what’s happening with me!

i’ve said this earlier, and am willing to shout out yet again. vodafone has done a brilliant job of unleashing its zoozoo on the indian audience, this IPL. some positives for me:
1. voda continues to evolve, in its quest for marketing moksha, displayed so brilliantly earlier through hutch campaigns, and after the yummy happy to help campaigns of ipl 2008, they’ve gone a step further through their stunning series of zoozoo ads..and to think that only 10 have been released so far, with 15 more to go by the time IPL 2009 ends..yummy
2. finally, marketers in india have realized the impact a good tournament or tv event can make, and voda chose to launch its campaign when it knew tv audience will peak, as it did in 2008. excellent strategy.
3. voda is supplementing the zoozoo craze well, through facebook…with 8000 fans already (i remember 5000 fans yesterday..) the social media is being used adequately well to sustain the interest…in fact i got to know of the species name thru facebook
4. there’s not much to do this summer in india…with the producers and multiplex slugging it out, with heat piling on to our collective agony, the regular tv shows getting on to the nerves as usual…..and in between comes the big hope yet again, as it did last year and blew away every other channel…its probably going to end up the same this year too…fortune has favored the brave…and in the midst of all this, vodafone has managed to release a campaign which actually brings in more smiles and better entertainment that the histrionics being played out on the field! commendable.
