Standing tall, amongst the ruins
Memories of a glorious past
Looking distraught, somewhat weary
Even as I brush the dust off
Inactivity, and the expected decay
Hoping they are things of the past

Driven to glory in one moment
Dethroned in the very next
The vagaries of meeting expectations
An inevitable roller coaster ride
Belief in self as the only power
Driving me back to the road of life

Some critics, still to be disproved
Some peaks, still left unscaled
Head high, in the company of giants
A small dream to be realized
The many mysteries, that life unfolds
A few still remaining unsolved…
