Dreaming Aloud (Salary version)!!

I once had some dreams
Visions of a life well lived
Far away from all the screams
Enough money, so much at peace

A walk to the bank, debit card in hand
Is when the dreams came crashing down
Looking for substance, in thin air
Eyes wide open, the money was just not there

Washed ashore, just swept aside
Reality does keep us in sight
Bruised and broken, dragging along
Vision blurred, dark IBMs all around

The silver lining, can’t be too far
A glorious life somewhat near
A simple desire, a basic need
Just to see my salary increase…
