Been to ibnlive.com lately? I personally think it’s a mess. With a 100 widgets vying for your attention, specially with each portal of network 18 fighting for a few pixels here and there, on the site, i would much rather stay away. It would still have been fine if the coding had been done right. But imagine seeing a footer and the footer links opening up at the top of the page? And then i thought maybe that’s a browser issue (had opened in IE), so i went to my dearest firefox, and the tables had truly turned there….the footer was now jostling for space with the articles placed towards the bottom of the page! (both screenshots attached).

Saw a story on alootechie: “A group of students of the 2009 graduating batch of IIT Kharagpur’s Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM) have launched ShaadiEasy.com, a marriage logistics portal that will provide prospective brides and grooms with information on marriage halls, caterers, invitation card printers, car rentals and other services involved in a marriage process.”

Whom to vote for? Whom have you voted for? Why did fewer people vote in 2009 as compared to 2004? Why have all the various campaigns: lead india, jaagore, CEC campaigns like pappu and rab ne bana di jodi, jai ho, public service ads by the incumbent government coaxing people to vote and so on….have not resulted in any meaningful impact in these elections. I’ll probably attribute the decline to the following factors:

Have you heard the new my airtel my offer campaign by airtel?
the sequel to the love story that started last year…? I heard it a few times yesterday, while IPL was on, and coudln’t help wonder about the stupid error in the script! Watch it to hear Vidya Balan say: “Duniya bhar me sun raha hu, har jagah cutbacks, aur tum ho ki….”
Mademoiselle, do you think you should have said “duniya bhar me sun rahi hu” and not sun raha hu?
Was the spot originally written for madhavan uttering this line and not balan? and the roles got reversed at the very end?
assuming airtel has amongst the best marketing brains and a fairly good agency on its rolls, is this mistake too obvious to not be caught by anyone?
As it is, vodafone with its zoozoo is taking away all the glory from other telecom operators this season, with a brilliantly designed campaign, and then airtel comes up with repeated telecasts of the same ad, and when you have caught a mistake once, you just keep on waiting to catch it again and again right…that’s what’s happening with me!
vidya ji, thodi savdhani barki hoti aapne to aaj ye din dekhne ko nahi milta :-P

what an interesting story on business standard! SRK planning to cash out on his KKR investment of 300 crores, and looking to net as much in profit..in only the 2nd season! gosh where’s all that trash about being serious in cricket, and buying for a long term plan etc gone now? in the end, its just about the money honey? almost like indian business groups applying for national telecom licenses, and all they needed was 1000 odd crore with them, in the big hope that a global major would buy out the license soon after they win it..remember unitech? so now, it would be tempting if anil ambani buys them out…BIG Riders, would it be? Or would it be BIG Indians? tempting…with sahara and nokia also being talked to, lets see who ends up as the new owners…but given the chemistry between ambani and sahara…it may end up as BIG Sahara…..KKR ko kaafi sahare ki zaroorat bhi hai!!
if only BCCI does not play spoilsport for Shah rukh khan, and decides to expand the number of teams next year to 16, 4 of which will be international teams….wait and watch!
