yahoo going low on R&D..blame it all on recession

30 April 2009 No Comment

just caught up with this post:
Yahoo India has reportedly asked around 60 employees from its Bangalore-based R&D centre to quit the company. Yahoo is also looking to hire about 130 professionals in India in areas like engineering, customer care and product management.

feel sorry for these r&d guys…perhaps if they had added to their skillsets rather than staying focused on creating breathtaking products and living on the edge of technology, they may have retained their jobs by moving to engg/cust care/product…alas….i guess yahoo realized that any information these days is now available with google baba…so why r&d? :-)
